Examining the quiet power behind all things, my work is a meditation on the cyclical nature of chaos and pattern.  As in fractals, when you look closely at pattern you find chaos, and vice versa.  My work is an attempt to come to terms with chaos, to organize it and investigate it.  It traces and re-traces its steps, responding in each moment to the texture of the page, and what is left is pure frenetic but contained energy.

The work is influenced by the wild dynamism of Arts & Crafts pattern, the movement of people and societies and the tracks that history leaves.  It attempts to be a macro view, expressed in repetitious minute mark-making.  Each drawing and collage is intentionally painstaking - thin lines run over and over, tiny cuts of paper arranged in formations - each a representation of small cultural advances that take lifetimes to achieve.
